One person was wounded in a shooting during an east Macon home invasion Thursday night.
Macon police were called to the 700 block of Smith Street in Fort Hill about 8:20 p.m.
A man told police two men approached him while he was walking on Smith Street and demanded that he “give it up.” The assailants forced the man to take them inside his home where they robbed him and a woman at gunpoint, according to a Macon police news release.
The robbers took the man and woman’s cell phones and a set of keys. They also demanded the man break into a home next door, according to the release.

The man refused to break into his neighbor’s home, and a fight erupted. The man was shot in the left thigh as he tried to run, according to police.
