The Bibb County courthouse became the first in the nation Wednesday to use a new, secure electronic verification system between the courts and attorneys, a county news release said.
A court order between state court and an attorney sent Wednesday was signed using the new electronic verification technology.
According to the news release, the new system will save time for the judges as well as paper for the county.
The system, Court e Orders, is the first digital signature-based process that allows attorneys to submit orders to judges electronically and receive signed documents back without generating any paper, according to the news release.
