Former Northside teacher accused of having sex with student

WARNER ROBINS - A former Northside High School band director has been charged with having sex with a student in Colquitt County.

Paul Guilbeau, 42, was arrested Aug. 16 and charged with sexual assault by a person with disciplinary authority, said Investigator Steven Colgan of the Moultrie Police Department. The charge relates to an incident that happened at a Moultrie motel Aug. 10, involving a 17-year-old female student.

The felony charge forbids people in position of authority, including teachers and police officers, from having sex with people under their care or custody even if the person is of legal age.

Guilbeau left his job as band director at Northside High School in 2011 for a position at Colquitt County High School.

Colgan said he contacted the Houston County Board of Education office and was told there had been no such allegations against Guilbeau at Northside.

Colgan asked that anyone with information in the case call him at 229-890-

5452.
