A man who identified himself to The Telegraph as murder suspect Willie Lee Bostic says he was at his grandmother’s house on Macon’s Center Street on Saturday night when Walter “Walt” Henley was fatally shot.
Bostic called the newspaper Tuesday afternoon. He said his grandmother recently died and that family members can vouch for his being at her home at 10 p.m. Saturday when Henley was shot.
“I don’t know him,” he said of Henley.
Bostic said family members told him Tuesday that he was wanted for murder.
Monday, Bibb County deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Bostic.
Henley was shot on the back porch of his Fulton Mill Road home following an argument with a man about a car and money.
Deputies have said Henley and Bostic knew each other through a mutual acquaintance.
