WARNER ROBINS -- Thrifty Car Rental is expected to move into its new location Wednesday, according to Warner Robins Redevelopment Agency Executive Director Gary Lee.
Chairman Randy Meade, who held his first meeting as head of the RDA board Monday, said Thrifty is the first new business on the newly-renamed Armed Forces Boulevard.
“Hopefully, it will bring traffic to that Armed Forces Boulevard area,” he said.
The RDA board renegotiated the rent and a new rental space for Thrifty this year. The lease was inherited as part of a land purchase for the new law enforcement center, which is under construction at Armed Forces and Watson boulevards.

Lee said Thrifty will move from a temporary building on Watson Boulevard this week but pay rent for the entire month. The August rent for the new building on Armed Forces Boulevard will be pro-rated, he said.
Also at the meeting, Jim Mehserle, of JMA Architecture, said the LEC remains on budget and on time to be ready for a ribbon cutting in January.
