There’s no shortage of restaurants in north Bibb County near The Shoppes at River Crossing, but Geoff and Anna Huang thought something was missing from the mix.
They opened Teriyaki House last week at 4921 Riverside Drive in between GeorgiaBob’s barbecue restaurant and Firehouse Subs. The strip of restaurants also includes Barberitos Southwestern Grille & Cantina.
“It’s a really good location,” Anna Huang said Thursday. “This area has a lot of traffic and the new mall, and there are lots of offices.
“We wanted to offer something this area doesn’t offer,” she added. “Everything is sandwiches or barbecue.”

Anna Huang described the Teriyaki House as Japanese fast food.
“Everything we cook is fresh ... our vegetables are fresh and nothing is ever frozen. We cook in front of our customers so they can see how we cook, and we cook the way they like.”
The Huangs also own Great Steak & Potato Co. in Macon Mall, and they’re the former owners of Sarku Japan, also in Macon. Anna Huang said she and her husband sold Sarku before opening in north Bibb County.
Offerings at the new restaurant include teriyaki chicken, beef, shrimp, vegetable combinations, wings, tempura and hibachi.
Restaurant hours are 10:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
