Macon man robbed at gunpoint while walking

A 67-year-old Macon man was robbed at gunpoint at about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday while walking near the intersection of Hollingsworth and Robinson roads in Macon, according to Macon police.

The man told police he saw a blue, four-door vehicle drive into a church parking lot and stop. He kept walking and turned onto Robinson Road headed east. The vehicle left the parking lot and drove to a nearby stop sign where a passenger got out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at the man, according to a police news release.

The gunman, wearing a red shirt and red hood or bandana over his face, demanded money. The man gave the gunman his wallet and cash, according to the release.

The gunman got back into the vehicle and was last seen headed south on Hollingsworth Road.
