The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault and theft by taking that took place early Saturday morning at an apartment on Skipper Road, according to a sheriff’s report.
Deputies were dispatched to the apartment, where there was no electricity. They found blood on the carpet, but no one was there. Deputies were informed that the victim, Henry Martinez, 29, had gone into a neighbor’s apartment.
Deputies found Martinez lying on a couch bleeding, and the side of his face was swollen. He told deputies that a red Dodge truck and a black Chevy Blazer drove up, and two men entered the apartment. One of the men was wearing a red mask and started to strike Martinez in the head with his pistol, according to the report. The other man grabbed Martinez’s iPhone before the two men left.
Martinez said the two men may have been sent there by an acquaintance with whom Martinez was having a dispute. Martinez declined medical treatment.
