Lizella man’s dogs poisoned with anti-freeze

Bibb County investigators are looking into the suspected poisoning of two dogs at a residence in Lizella, according to a sheriff’s report.

The report, which was released Tuesday, said the dogs’ owner, Keith Dykes, who lives in the 2400 block of Sofkee Circle, called deputies Friday afternoon after he saw his chocolate lab panting heavily and slobbering and his boxer also acting sick. He took both dogs to the vet, who told Dykes the dogs had been poisoned with anti-freeze.

Dykes told investigators he noticed vomit containing carrots and potatoes, which he never fed the dogs. He said he has never had any problems with the neighbors.

Anyone with information about the poisoning is asked to call Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
