Authorities have released the name of a 1-year-old Crawford County boy who fell into an above-ground pool and died Monday night.
An autopsy was performed Tuesday on Cutter Layne Jennings, but the cause of death still is pending a review of his medical records and toxicology testing, said David Allen ONeal, Crawford County coroner.
It could be several weeks before an official cause of death is issued, he said. An autopsy is mandatory in Georgia for all child deaths.
The boy was taken off life support at The Children’s Hospital at The Medical Center of Central Georgia about 9:30 p.m., ONeal said.

Deputies were called to a house in the 200 block of Quail Run Road about 7:20 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived, the boy’s family members were administering CPR, said Crawford County Sheriff Lewis Walker.
Investigators spent Monday interviewing family members who were at the house when the boy fell into the pool. Walker said the toddler didn’t live at the house with the pool.
Walker said it appeared as though no one saw the boy fall into the pool. It’s unclear how long he had been in the water before family members spotted him.
The Department of Family and Children Services has been notified of the incident, he said.
