Gunmen rob Macon food mart, Macon man fires shots at suspects

Two gunmen robbed Top Line Food Mart, 4915 Bloomfield Road, at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. A 55-year-old Macon man who was inside the store during the robbery fired two shots at the robbers after they left, according to a Macon police report released Wednesday.

People inside the store told police one of the gunmen went behind the counter and demanded money while the second stood at the front door. Two people were behind the counter during the robbery, a man was in front of the counter and a fourth person was in the bathroom.

After taking $4,500, the gunmen headed off on foot toward a nearby Family Dollar parking lot, according to the report.
