Macon cab driver robbed at gunpoint

A man with a gun robbed a cab driver early Tuesday morning in the 4200 block of Mikado Avenue, according to Macon police.

The cab driver told police he was driving north on Mikado Avenue at about 1:20 a.m. when a man walked up to his cab, pointed a gun at him and said, “Give it up.” The driver reached into his shirt pocket to get cash and dropped his cell phone. The gunman opened the door and took the phone, according to a police news release issued Wednesday morning.

The gunman also snatched the in-car radio microphone and a small amount of cash before heading north on Mikado Avenue, according to police.
