George Washington of Macon had a fifth of July he won’t soon forget.
He won $25,000 in a Georgia lottery game Thursday morning with a scratch-off ticket he bought at a store on Broadway.
Washington, 51, screamed when he learned that he had won money in the Red Hot Cherries game, according to a release from the Georgia Lottery Corp.
“It feels wonderful,” he said.
He said he doesn’t have immediate plans for his windfall.
“I’m going to try to save some of it.”
Washington bought the ticket at the Broadway Food Mart, located at 1610 Broadway.
