Prison officer found with marijuana on prison property

An officer at Central State Prison was arrested Tuesday for carrying drugs across the guard line onto prison property.

Officer Yacobyus King was found with an undetermined amount of marijuana and tobacco Tuesday morning, according to a report released by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.

Deputy Warden of Security John Fagan told officers that officers Marlon Brown and Donald Walton searched King after a random canine search of employee vehicles indicated that he might have drugs on him.

The marijuana and tobacco was wrapped in cellophane and taped to the inside of athletic shorts that King wore under his uniform, according to the report.

King was charged with crossing the guard line with drugs. He was taken to the Bibb County jail.
