Macon police are searching for a gunman who robbed the QuikTrip, 1924 Forsyth St., Monday night
Shortly after 8 p.m., a black man wearing a mask and dressed in all black robbed the convenience store that sits in a land triangle between Interstate 75 and Holt Avenue, according to a police report released Tuesday afternoon.
The 911 call was dispatched to a police sergeant via phone due to “radio problems.” The sergeant then gave an officer the call by hand, sending the officer to the scene, according to the report.
A clerk told police the man displayed a small black handgun and demanded that she put money in a bag. He then ran out the door with the money and headed toward Hardeman Avenue and Pursley Street.
Another witness told police he saw a second man standing in front of the store and going in and out of the store several times, as if he was checking to see if the store was clear of customers, according to the report.
No injuries were reported.
