The mother of a kidnapping suspect returned a toddler that was taken from a Macon apartment Thursday.
About 1 p.m., Vicky Briscoe, the mother of 1-year-old Yasmine Briscoe, called Macon police to tell them that her daughter had been brought back to her.
The child was kidnapped from the Clinton Road apartment early Thursday morning by the child’s father, according to Macon police.
Briscoe told police that her ex-boyfriend, Quinton Jackson, came to her apartment in the 1500 block of Clinton Road about 1 a.m. and banged on the door. She opened the door and called the police while Jackson entered and found her current boyfriend.
Before police arrived, Jackson grabbed Briscoe by the throat and struck her several times, police said. He took his 1-year-old daughter and left.
Police are still looking for Jackson, whom they plan to charge with kidnapping.
Jackson, 24, is a 5-foot 10-inch black man with a dark complexion, medium build and braided black hair. He weighs about 175 pounds.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Jackson is asked to call police at 751-7500 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
