In a called meeting Thursday, Perry City Council made appointments to three boards.
The council reappointed Ralph Gentry to Jointly Owned Natural Gas, which manages gas distribution systems for member cities, including Perry.
It reappointed Marshall Parker and Bill Lavender to the Airport Authority. In a new appointment, they named Charisse Neal to the Perry Housing Authority.
Council delayed making an appointment to the Industrial Building Authority. Mayor Jimmy Faircloth said the board hasn’t met since 2003, and he wanted to give council members time to read the legislation that spells out its authority. He said the board has narrowly defined authority that relates to industrial buildings that could spur economic growth. It last met in connection financing issues related to the construction of the county speculative building.
