Macon City Council unanimously passed a second resolution Tuesday asking Cox Communications to move three cable channels back from digital cable to basic analog.
The channels were moved a year ago, meaning basic subscribers with old TVs could no longer see the government, educational and public-access channels without a special box. On Jan. 1, Cox has said, it will start charging $5.25 per month for the box.
The new resolution differs from one passed earlier this year by asking the local delegation to the General Assembly to “clarify” the law governing those channels, with an eye to requiring Cox to move them back.
