Estranged husband shoots himself after kidnapping ex-wife

A Sparta man is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head after police say he kidnapped his ex-wife and shot himself early Tuesday.

Charlie Sterling Hall Jr., 41, pulled a gun on 34-year-old Katillya Warren-Hall when she drove up to work at Renal Advantage Incorporated in Milledgeville at about 4:50 a.m., said Capt. Dray Swicord of the Milledgeville Police Department.

Hall took Warren-Hall from the dialysis center on 1310 North Columbia St. and drove in his vehicle to the Wall Cemetery on Jones Chapel Road in Hancock County where he shot himself at about 5:30 a.m., Swicord said.

Hall was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia and Warren-Hall was not hurt, he said.

Family members told investigators the couple divorced last fall.
