Macon police officers arrested two men in connection with a commercial robbery early Friday.
An officer was conducting routine business checks at about 2 a.m. when he observed a blue Chevrolet Caprice coming from the back of Shurlington Plaza at 1700 Shurlington Drive, according to a news release from the police department.
The officer stopped the car and noticed several air conditioning unit coils inside the vehicle. The officer called for backup and police determined that the coils had been taken from five of the air conditioning units behind the businesses, the release said.
The suspects were identified as Michael Jeeverette Edmonds, 19, of Alta Vista Avenue and Jarvis Tendrea Rouse, 20, of Hinsley Avenue. Both men were charged with misdemeanor theft by taking. Edmonds was also charged with false information, criminal attempt and felony criminal damage. Rouse was also charged with a state court violation.
Both suspects were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, where they remain. This was both men's first arrests in Bibb County, the release stated.
