Macon police are investigating a shooting on Montpelier Avenue and the discovery of a suspected Molotov cocktail at an east Macon apartment complex early Monday morning.
At about 10 minutes after midnight, officers were called to Montpelier and Brentwood avenues where one person was shot in the leg, said police dispatchers. No further information was immediately available about the shooting.
Shortly before 3 a.m., Macon-Bibb County firefighters were called to investigate the smell of gas at the Walnut Hills Apartments on Merriwood Drive, which is not far off Shurling Drive. Firefighters found what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail in the rear of one of the units. There was no fire, but Macon police were called to the scene.
