Bibb County grand jurors indicted a 24-year-old Macon man Tuesday in the June rape of a 13-year-old girl.

Terrance Devon Ragland, of Antioch Road, is charged with rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes, according to Bibb County Superior Court records.

Police have said the girl was walking on Houston Avenue on June 23 when a man in a silver sport utility vehicle asked if she wanted a ride. The man, later identified as Ragland, allegedly drove the girl behind an apartment and raped her.

Ragland is being held at the Bibb County jail, according to jail records.

Grand jurors also indicted two Macon men in connection with a separate case that involves an Aug. 22 attack on two Bibb County corrections officers.

Jeremy Taylor, 18, of Opry Street, and Antwoin Roberson, 19, of Carroll Street, are charged with aggravated battery on a correctional officer and obstruction of a correctional officer, according to an indictment.

Taylor and Roberson, inmates at the Bibb County jail, refused to return to their cells after leaving the showers Aug. 22. Two corrections officers attempted to make the men return to their cells, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

An altercation ensued that left officer Jeremy Haddock with a broken jaw and nose and his teeth knocked out, according to court records.

Officer Enos Curry suffered a large knot on the side of his face and an injured hand, according to the sheriff’s office.

Taylor and Roberson were previously convicted of crimes in Bibb County. Taylor was convicted June 8 on an armed robbery charge. Roberson was convicted July 19 on two counts of armed robbery and one count of carjacking, according to court records.

Both men remain in jail, according to jail records.

Also indicted Tuesday were:

n Garrett Banks, 19, on two counts of armed robbery.

Banks, of Tidewater Circle, is accused of using a handgun to rob the Sunshine Center laundry on Millerfield Road on April 6 and BP Express on Pio Nono Avenue on March 30. Sharron McCoy, 21, of New Clinton Road, also is charged with armed robbery in connection with the BP Express robbery, according to an indictment.

Both are being held at the Bibb County jail, according to jail records.

n Frederick Edwards, 37, on a charge of armed robbery.

Edwards, of Mathis Street, is accused of robbing Budget Auto Sales, 3430 Pio Nono Ave., at gunpoint June 2, according to an indictment.

He is being held at the Bibb County jail, according to jail records.
