Warner Robins shooting victim dies

A Warner Robins man shot at Sewell Circle Park in June has died.

Dedrick Montford, 20, was pronounced dead at The Medical Center of Central Georgia on Wednesday, more than two months after suffering a chest wound on June 6th, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Montford's death is believed to be related to his wound, Jones said.

Police officers responding to a call about shots fired found the wounded Montford lying in the park.

Anthony James Bogan, 17, is accused in the shooting. Bogan is still in the Houston County Jail on charges of aggravated battery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Warner Robins police spokeswoman Tabitha Pugh said detectives are conferring with prosecutors but are awaiting autopsy results before deciding whether to upgrade charges.
