West Bibb gas station robbed Sunday morning

While many people were headed to church services Sunday morning, a man decided to rob a west Bibb County gas station.

About 11 a.m., a black male came into the Marathon gas station at 5013 Harrison Road and asked for a pack of cigarettes, according to a news release from Sgt. Sean DeFoe, public information officer with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The man then revealed a gun and demanded money from the register, according to the release. The suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and ran toward the Villager Lodge Hotel behind the gas station.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

The suspect is about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds, according to the release.

He was wearing a khaki hat, blue shirt, denim shorts and black shoes.
