Southeastern Region baseball: Florida tops Tennessee

WARNER ROBINS - Florida (Viera Suntree) defeated Tennessee (Spring Hill) 5-0 in a Little League Baseball Southeastern Region Tournament pool play game Monday.

Vincent Benvenuto put Florida on the board in the bottom of the first with a solo home run to right field. In the bottom of the second, Anthony Castagnaro also hit a solo home run for a 2-0 lead. Jackson Prater added another solo home run in the third.

Florida added another run in the fourth on Michael Pineda's RBI double for a 4-0 lead. Pineda scored on an Ian Swam grounder to make it 5-0.

Florida (3-0) locked up the top seed in Pool A and will play in the semifinals Wednesday at 6 p.m. against the No. 2 seed in Pool B. That game will be broadcast on ESPN2. Tennessee (0-3) will play in the 10 a.m. consolation game on Tuesday.
