Suspicious fire burns Northside High office

The Warner Robins fire and police departments are investigating a suspicious early morning fire at Northside High School.

The fire alarm sounded shortly after 4:30 a.m. and crews found a small fire inside the JROTC office of the school, said Lt. Jeff Stewart of the Warner Robins Fire Department.

"It looks like a couple of kids may have broken in," Stewart said.

Only a couple of books burned and there is very minimal smoke damage and no fire or water damage anywhere else in the school, Stewart said.

"There may be a little bit of a smell, but nothing to stop them from opening," Stewart said.

Police are investigating the suspected burglary and arson at the school.
