WARNER ROBINS — Warner Robins American Little League defeated Alabama (Phenix City LL) 5-4 in Little League Softball Southeastern Region Tournament in pool play Friday at Little League Southeast Park.
The victory, combined with a North Carolina victory over South Carolina in Friday's late game, guarantees Warner Robins a berth in Sunday's semifinals. Saturday's 7 p.m. game between Warner Robins and North Carolina will determine first and second seeds in Pool B.
In the top of the first against Alabama, Warner Robins loaded the bases with one out. Melissa Cox drove home Sierra Stella on a fielder's choice for a 1-0 lead. Alabama tied the score on a passed ball in the bottom of the inning and added a second on a throwing error to take a 2-1 lead.
In the top of the second, Chelsea Whaley doubled with two outs to drive in Amber Coy and Sierra Stella to retake the lead, 3-2.

In the bottom of the third, Alabama added a run to tie the game at 3 when Kelby Hall came home on a defensive lapse by Warner Robins. Alabama's Whiteley Pope scored on a wild pitch to make it 4-3.
In the top of the fourth, Avery Lamb singled to left-center and drove home Coy to tie the game at 4. Ashley Killebrew then drew a walk with the bases loaded to score Whaley for a 5-4 lead.
On Saturday, Alabama (0-2) plays South Carolina (0-2) at 1 p.m.
