Several agencies are expected to participate in a mock disaster Tuesday in Twiggs County.
The drill, which is expected to get under way at 7:04 a.m. at 295 Durham Mill Road in a remote area of the county, is expected to include an explosion at a pretend company dubbed Acme Industries, said Danny Evans, public information officer for the Houston County Emergency Management Agency.
The 12-hour training exercise also is expected to include a mock chemical spill, Evans said.
Other agencies participating in the drill include the Macon-Bibb Fire Department, Macon-Bibb EMA, Houston County Fire Department, Twiggs County EMA and Fire Department and the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, Evans said. The training is designed to prepare agencies to coordinate activities in the event of a real emergency, Evans said.
