With today's highs poised to hit 100 degrees, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory until 8 p.m.
When you factor in high humidity the temperature will feel more like 105 to 110 across Middle Georgia including the cities of Macon, Warner Robins, Milledgeville, Forsyth, Cordele and Dublin.
The advisory covers the area along and south of a line from Columbus to Thomaston to Monroe and Athens.
Everyone is urged to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room if possible and avoid direct sunshine. The elderly, very young and people with heart conditions are most at risk in extreme heat.
