The new Marco’s Pizza in Warner Robins is the franchise’s first restaurant in Middle Georgia, but owners say more are on the way.
The Warner Robins restaurant opened Wednesday at 4993 Russell Parkway. Co-owner Remi Tessier said the store is one of 10 planned in what he called the “Macon and Albany areas.”
Those plans include another restaurant in Warner Robins, three in Macon and one in Dublin. Tessier already has opened a Marco’s in Albany. Other locations in development include Tifton, Fitzgerald and Moultrie.
“That’s what’s been recommended at this point,” Tessier said. “We’re going to keep our eye on Douglas, Milledgeville and possibly Cordele as possible sites in the future.”
Tessier, described in a company news release as a Marco’s Pizza area representative, co-owns the Russell Parkway restaurant with Tony Carr, a Warner Robins resident.
“He’s going to be pretty much running the store because I’m going to be trying to build up the territory,” Tessier said.
Marco’s stores employ 20 to 25 people and offer carryout, delivery, dine-in and online ordering services, according to the news release. The menu features the company’s “Ah!thentic” Italian pizza, “Cheezybread,” chicken wings, sub sandwiches, meatballs and salads.
Headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, Marco’s operates more than 200 stores in 17 states and the Bahamas. With more than 1,000 stores in development, the franchise is the fastest-growing pizza company in the United States, according to the company news release.
The Warner Robins restaurant is the chain’s 10th in Georgia.
“Georgia customers appreciate both the quality and the fair price of our pizza,” Jack Butorac, Marco’s president and CEO, said in the release. “Marco’s looks forward to continued development in the Macon and Albany areas.”
