Perry police ID pair who fled wreck

Perry police have identified two individuals who fled after the car they were in rear-ended another car Monday in Perry.

The driver of the car, Hansell Alex McCullum, 58, is wanted on charges of trafficking methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, driving on a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident and following too closely, Perry police Capt. Heath Dykes said.

The passenger, Janet Marie McCullum, 50, is wanted on charges of trafficking methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine, Dykes said. The couple is married, and their last known address is in Houston County, Dykes said.

Police identified the McCullums after tracking the car, which is registered to Janet McCullum, and examining items in the car, Dykes said. Methamphetamine was found in the vehicle, he said.

Monday’s collision happened at 1:04 p.m. on Ga. 127 between Arena and Lake Joy roads.

After the wreck, the car’s occupants fled on foot into a heavily wooded area before police and firefighters arrived, according to police.

The driver of the car that was hit was not injured.

Hansell McCullum also is wanted in Warner Robins for failing to appear in court. That warrant stems from a citation he received for failure to carry and exhibit his license to police, said Tabitha Pugh, public information officer for Warner Robins police.

Anyone with information about the McCullums’ whereabouts is encouraged to call Perry police investigator Quridsha Gilliam or Dykes at 988-2821 or 988-2824.
