Update: Names of Saturday wreck victims released

After contacting their next of kin, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones on Sunday released the names of two people killed Saturday morning in a fiery wreck on Interstate 75.

William Sneed, 42, and his daughter, Hope Sneed, 8, were killed about 6:15 a.m. Saturday when their pickup truck hit a guardrail barrier and burst into flames. The Sneeds were heading north on I-75 and were in the process of moving from Delray Beach, Fla., to Carthage, Mo., Jones said. The truck was pulling a U-Haul trailer. The wreck happened just south of Sardis Church Road. A dog also died in the wreck.

Jones said William Sneed had just closed down his remodeling company in Florida and was relocating his family to his home state of Missouri. William Sneed is survived by a wife and two sons, ages 7 and 13, who were in Florida Sunday, Jones said.
