UPDATE: Suspect arrested after WR officer injured in liquor store scuffle

Warner Robins police arrested a Fayetteville man Wednesday night after he allegedly attacked an officer at a liquor store, police officials said.

Tabitha Pugh, spokeswoman for the police, said at about 7:43 p.m., Sgt. Matt Moulton responded to a call at the Famous Liquor Store, 545 North Davis Drive, about a man passing a bad check.

When Moulton confronted the man, the two of them began to struggle. The officer called for backup and minutes later, more officers arrived on the scene and arrested 24-year-old Kyle Sims.

Sims is charged with two counts of battery on a police officer, two counts of felony obstruction and two counts of first degree forgery with other charges pending.

Moulton was taken to Houston Medical Center by ambulance where he was in stable condition last night after complaining about pain in his arms and his legs. Sims suffered minor injuries, Pugh said.
