Three charged with stealing motorcycle, leading WR police on short chase

WARNER ROBINS — Three were charged with stealing a motorcycle in Warner Robins after a short police chase Friday, police said.

Johnathan Bass, 32, of Columbus, the driver of a Suzuki GSX motorcycle, was charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license, fleeing and attempting to elude and obstruction of an officer, according to a Warner Robins police news release issued Monday.

James Webley, 17, of Macon, the driver of a Chevrolet Impala, was charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle, fleeing and attempting to elude, obstruction of an officer and driving without a license, the release said. Terelle Stevenson, 26, of Columbus, the passenger in the Impala, was charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle and obstruction of an officer.

Police attempted to stop the parked vehicles at Leisure Lake Drive and Moody Road early Friday. Both drivers fled and a short chase over about a mile ensued, Pugh said.

Webley was free on bond Monday, while Bass and Stevenson were being held at the Houston County jail.
