Houston expected to test its outdoor warning sirens

Houston County is expected to test its outdoor warning sirens Saturday at noon, weather permitting.

The severe weather warning sirens are expected to be tested the third Saturday of every month as long is there is no inclement weather, according to a Houston County EMA news release.

Other than for tests, the protocol for the countywide system requires the sirens only be sounded when there is imminent danger, EMA officials have said.

The sirens will not be sounded if there is rain or inclement weather, to avoid a potential false alarm, officials have said.
