Man drowns in Lake Tobesofkee, fishing partner missing

By DAN MALEYdmaley@macon.comThe body of a Warner Robins man was found floating in Lake Tobesofkee Sunday afternoon, and authorities were looking for his missing fishing partner, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Frank Roquemore, 62, was pronounced dead at 1:45 p.m. Sunday. His body was spotted floating near Claystone Park about 1:15 p.m. Jones said.

Roquemore apparently went fishing in a bass boat shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday with his nephew, 52-year-old Willie Buckles of Byron. Jones said Buckles’ wife told him she had not heard from her husband since that time.

Authorities had not found Buckles or the boat by 2:45 p.m.
