In cooperation with various animal rescue groups, Warner Robins Animal Control is offering sponsor packages for pet adoptions.
The packages range from $75 for two weeks of boarding to $200 for medical expenses and necessities for senior animals, according to a release from the Warner Robins Police Department.
The packages provide for an animal rescue group to adopt a stray for placement in a home, said Tabitha Pugh, public information officer for the department.
Some of the groups actually have waiting lists for out-of-state placements, Pugh said. A package to pay for an out-of-state transport of a stray to its new home is $125, according to the announcement.
Animal rescue groups participating are Starbright Animal Rescue, Houston County Humane Society, Georgia Canine Rescue and Rehabilitation and Animal Lovers.
To purchase a package or make a donation, call animal control at 929-7290, or visit the shelter at 208 Stalnaker Ave. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. For more information, visit wrpolice.org.
