Robbers hold customer, workers at gunpoint in east Macon

A customer and two Auto Zone workers were held at gunpoint Sunday night during the armed robbery of the store at 905 Shurling Drive.

At about 7:50 p.m. a gunman and his accomplice ordered the employees to the office and demanded money, took the cash and ran out of the store around the side of the building, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

One of the robbers is believed to be in his mid to late 50's, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 175 pounds. He was wearing a blue hoodie and had a scruffy unshaven face, the release stated. The other man is much younger and was wearing a black hoodie and ski mask and stands about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds, no further descriptions of the men were released.
