New eatery winging its way to Spring Street

Another restaurant is planning to move into the former Wendy’s building on Spring Street in Macon.

American Wings & Deli is renovating the building now and expects to open by the end of March, said Alex Kim, manager and co-owner of the family-owned business. The Kim family opened its first location at 2420 Pio Nono Ave. about a year ago, he said. A restaurant by the same name in Warner Robins is not owned by this company, Kim said.

The details are still being worked out, but the eatery on Spring Street is expected to be open seven days a week, and it is expected to employ about six or seven workers, he said.

The restaurant serves wings, seafood, hamburgers, chicken, sandwiches and salads.

One reason this building was chosen is because of its proximity to the interstate, Kim said.

“And we do have a lot of customers now from that side of town,” he said.

The Wendy’s closed a couple of years ago.
