“The Crazies” extras gathering to watch movie in Macon on Thursday night

All Middle Georgians who were extras in the remake of the Hollywood horror flick “The Crazies” are invited to attend a special screening of the movie at 8 p.m. Thursday in Macon.

“There were over 1,000 extras in Middle Georgia,” said Lisa Caldwell, an extra who is coordinating the gathering to watch the movie, filmed largely in the midstate.

Extras attending the event are asked to be at the AmStar 16 on Zebulon Road in Bibb County no later than 7:30 p.m., Caldwell said. They must bring proof they were in the movie.

The cost is $8.50 per person, and the screening is only open to extras in the film. The general public can catch the movie beginning Friday, when it makes its national debut.
