Law enforcement officials arrested a second suspect accused of an armed robbery and the slaying of a Macon man who was killed in his apartment Dec. 2, a release stated.
The Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Christian Brown, 19, of Macon, on Wednesday afternoon and charged him with armed robbery and the killing of 29-year-old Travis Briscoe of Macon.
Macon police previously arrested Khirhy Deqwontez Simmons, 19, of 1115 Boulevard, and also charged him with armed robbery and murder. According to police reports, Simmons and Brown tried to force their way into Briscoe’s residence at 1163 Boulevard in an attempted robbery the day of the killing.
Briscoe was shot multiple times and later died at The Medical Center of Central Georgia.
Brown was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at a house in the 1400 block of Kitchens Street as a result of a CrimeStoppers tip.
Macon police spokesman Sgt. Zac Self said the case remains under investigation, and more arrests are expected.
