WR police officer resigns after failing breathalyzer test

A Warner Robins police officer resigned after failing a breathalyzer test, police said.

Andy Lamb, 23, who joined the Warner Robins police force in August 2008, turned in his resignation Friday, said Public Information Officer Tabitha Pugh.

Warner Robins police responded to complaint of loud music at a party at 4 a.m. Friday in which Lamb was present, she said.

A couple of hours later, Lamb, a patrol officer, reported to work at 6 a.m. for his 12-hour shift and a supervisor suspected he had been drinking, Lamb was given a breathalyzer test that indicated he had alcohol in his system that would make it unsafe for him to drive, Pugh said.

He was immediately placed on administrative leave and Lamb resigned later in the day.Pugh said she did not know the officer’s blood-alcohol level.
