Macon police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a pawnshop at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, police spokesman Sgt. Zac Self said. Self said Macon Pawn & Gun on Mercer University Drive opened at about 9 a.m.
A few minutes later, Self said two Hispanic males, pretending to be customers, pulled out handguns and forced everybody in the store into the back.
After restraining the victims, a third suspect joined the gunmen. They stole an undisclosed amount of cash and some items from the shop, Self said. However, the men didn’t steal any weapons
The gunmen took the car keys from one of the employees and used that vehicle to escape. The vehicle was recovered a short time later.
No one was injured during the robbery, Self said.
