Office/warehouse buildings planned in north Bibb

An office/warehouse development is planned for Arkwright Road in north Bibb County.

The complex of seven buildings is planned at 5220, 5230 and 5260 Arkwright Road, assuming that zoning commissioners approve a conditional-use permit for phase one to allow land-disturbance activity before submitting a final site plan. The permit application is expected to be addressed at Monday’s Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission meeting.

The permit would allow site grading, drainage, detention and erosion control on a 9.7-acre site that is zoned industrial, according to the commission’s staff report.

During the second phase, seven office/warehouse buildings would be built, ranging from 10,000 square feet to 12,500 square feet each, the report stated. Construction is expected to begin within 90 days after phase one is completed.

“The property will be developed and owned by one developer, but may possibly be sold as individual industrial lots per conceptual site plan,” the report stated.

The meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. at Macon City Hall, 700 Poplar St.
