Warner Robins wins Little League World Series opener

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Warner Robins American socked four homers and pulled away late to top the Midwest champions 11-3 in their opener today at the Little League World Series.

Robins moves on to its second game of pool play Saturday against the Mid-Atlantic squad from Staten Island, N.Y., which topped the Northwest team 10-3 earlier today. That game will be shown at 3 p.m. on ABC.

Justin Jones banged a pair of homers and drove in three runs for Warner Robins. Trey Maddox and Spencer Sato also homered for Robins.

Hurler Conner Smith picked up the win, striking out 10 of the 20 he faced.
