Macon sets third straight record low

The temperature in Macon dropped to 56 degrees, shattering the record low of 65 set in 1967.

This marks the third straight record low for the city. Monday's low of 61 broke the record of 62 set in 1987 and Sunday's 58 degrees broke the 1967 record of 61.

National Weather Service meteorologist Sean Ryan said temperatures should be back to seasonal normals on Thursday with low in the low 70s.

"We've had an unusual drop in low pressure in the eastern United States," Ryan said.
