Macon woman flips car on Houston Avenue

A Macon woman flipped her Nissan Altima into a brick sign post Monday morning on Houston Avenue across from Pendleton Homes.

Dianne Madison, 56, escaped serious injury when she fell asleep at the wheel at about 8:30 a.m., left the road, hit a culvert and flipped over into the brick planter at the base of a sign post at Fred Jones Upholstery Shop at 3438 Houston Ave., said Jason Bray, Macon police officer.

The sedan crushed a chain-link fence and plowed through a neighbor’s flower garden before the car stopped a few feet from front porch of the house.

Madison declined to be taken by ambulance to the hospital.
