Clear skies and the presence of the highly lauded U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds demonsration led to a successful Robins Air Show this weekend, organizers said late Sunday.
Maj. Joseph Speight, air show director, said the two-day event Robins Air Force Base drew a crowd of about 75,000 people each day, and the demonstrations went off without a hitch. The last time the air show had been held was 2006.
“Everything went very well,” he said.
John Birdsong, public affairs officer for the base, said there were great crowds both days mostly because of sunny weather.
