Arrests made in connection with a Friday night home invasion could lead to arrests in at least two other robberies in Macon and Bibb County, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Jerry Modena said deputies responded to a house at an undisclosed address just before 11 p.m. Friday following a home invasion in which a man grabbed a woman in her garage and stole her purse and a handgun. Using a vehicle description from the woman, deputies stopped 23-year-old Douglas Irving Morrison on Interstate 75 about an hour later and found the woman's pistol in his vehicle, Modena said.
Deputies later served a search warrant at Morrison's Mason Street residence, Modena said. In connection with the search warrant, deputies arrested 25-year-old April Denise Harvey on drug and weapons charges, Modena said. Investigators found cash at the house believed to have been obtained from an earlier robbery, he said.
Tuesday, investigators arrested 29-year-old Willie Albert Woolfork of the same Mason Street address on drug and weapons charges.
Modena said information gained during the investigation may lead to additional charges in connection with two other robberies that have occurred in Macon and Bibb County in the past month and half.
He said sheriff's office investigators are working with the Macon police. Anyone with information about Morrison, Harvey and Woolfork and their activities is asked to call the sheriff's office at 746-9441.
