A fugitive sought by Texas and Florida law enforcement authorities has been captured in Fort Valley, police said.
Ebony Tims, 26, was being held Wednesday in the Peach County jail awaiting extradition to Texas to face armed robbery charges, said Fort Valley police Capt. Lawrence Spurgeon.
Spurgeon said he was not familiar with the details of the armed robbery case in Texas.
Fort Valley police have been investigating Tims since April 7 for prescription fraud and forgeries at various Fort Valley businesses, Spurgeon said.
When it was learned that she was a fugitive, the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Task Force was contacted to help arrest her, the detective said.
Tims, who is from Texas, was found Tuesday hiding under a sink at a Fort Valley apartment at 221 Beech St., Spurgeon said.
She is also wanted by Florida authorities on misdemeanor theft charges, Spurgeon said.
